Comic Con, moving, art show, and etc.

So, Comic Con was awesome. Our costumes were awesome, mostly Amanda's and Michelle's though. There were many aspects of my costume that I liked, but I was missing a few key elements. Like hair, boots, and broaches. Oh well. My fuku was awesome and my choker was too.
Amanda and Michelle's costumes were totally complete, and it was very exciting to walk around with them all day and take pictures with stormtroopers and other folks like that.
I also shook Kevin Sorbo's hand. For those of you who don't know who he is, he is the star of my third favorite T.V. show to ever be on television: Hercules, the Legendary Journeys! (The order is this: Sailor Moon, Xena, and the Hercules!)

Unfortunately, I was out of money and unable to buy an autograph from him. But, I did shake his hand!

Life has been pretty crazy ever since summer started. With moving, orientation, trying to say "goodbye for a while" to all my favorite people and things I've become attached to has given me a bit of a shake-up.

In preparation for the new apartment I bought a whole bunch of plants to plant in pots outside. I think that growing something will make it seem more like home for me.

More on life and such.

So, we've managed to find ourselves a three bedroom apartment.

I'll post pictures when I feel like it, but I'm confident in its awesomeness and I think we'll be doing alright there. : )

I also have an art show featuring some never-before-seen art!
I've been working vigorously for the past two weeks, and I've completed three paintings and I'm working on a fourth. Hopefully, photographs will be taken of all of them and I can make prints of them to sell online. I'm very proud of this particular batch, especially since they were done without the rigid guidelines of a class assignment and allowed me to demonstrate my style.

I'm putting up a couple of self-portraits and a few other things.
Once again, I am filled with excitement.

I will be showing at Espresso Metro, on 11th and Freeport in the Landpark Area.
It will be from July 7th-August something.

I will be also showing with special guest Jake Wallin, fellow artist and Sacramento native that I have known for many years.

If you are interested in seeing more than paper scans of my art, I encourage you to stop by and see what we've been working on.

And if you like coffee, come drink some and check out our art as a second thought. I hope to see you there!

I am filled with excitement.

I have been drawing on napkins lately. I haven't really worked on much, to be honest. And I have A LOT to catch up on this summer.

Here's what my art to-do list looks like:
1. Create a suit of armor out of bottlecaps.
2. Finish paintings for Diane.
3. Create magical Sailor Moon costume.
4. Photograph paintings to put on website.
5. CYANOTYPE CREATING. : D

I must meet these goals by the end of the summer in addition to this personal to-do list:
1. Find an apartment to live in this Fall.
2. Do all the magical things that Berkeley requires me to do before registering for classes. (transcript retrieving, CalSo, etc.)
3. Get a job.
4. Work at a job.
5. Profit???

Anyway, that's all pretty boring stuff I think. (except for the art stuff, which excites me.)
Michelle and Daniel and I are looking at some apartments today, so hopefully we'll find something and I can just give them all of my money and finding a place will be out of the way. I'm hoping to ask my mom to lend me some money for the deposit. Although I haven't been spending much, life occasionally requires money.

More on this later. But probably not.

I've been busy.

I have been admitted to U.C. Berkeley. For all of you (in my nonexistent audience of readers) who cheered me on, bless you.

To those of you who didn't, including me at first, suckit. Actually I don't really care about any of that. I'm just actually really excited. I have all "thank you"s and virtually no "suckit"s. I don't think that makes any sense but whatever. After finals I'm going to really get to work. I think I'm taking the summer off of school completely, and I'm thinking about applying for a summer job. I'm going to need some money for when I'm moving. But hey, does anyone want any art? I won't be doing much over the summer, so if you could buy some that would be awesome.

Anyway.

I made a couple of cyanotypes and scanned a picture I drew on a napkin.

Finally scanned some stuff!

So, I decided to finally scan the scan-able works from last semester. I have a few oil paintings to digitalize, also; but those will have to wait. I drew a couple of things the other day that I also scanned. Wow! Is this blog boring so far or what?

Needless to say, I'm still figuring some things out.

And, I also just realized that I kept posting and editing the same thing, and since Daniel is on my mailing list blogger may keep sending it to him.

Sorry Daniel.

Anyway, I took us off the list because that is really annoying.

school and work.

I've decided that I don't deserve my weekends.
I don't deserve the awesome fun that I have on the weekend because my grades aren't perfect and my artistic development isn't progressing as quickly as it could be.

School, I've noticed often gets in the way of artistic projects. I guess this is because I've been putting off homework, and then making excuses for not art-ing because I have homework to do. I just need to finish my homework early, and then satisfy my artistic needs during the week; leaving me with the possibility of a guiltless weekend of fun.

I will have a camera soon. I really need to be scanning and photographing my projects, my website is looking a little dated.
